Foreword

The two authors of the Foreword to A Climate for Life are internationally renowned for very different reasons and yet intimately tied to conservation
of biodiversity and the role healthy ecosystems.

Eminent Harvard Professor, Dr. E.O. Wilson and actor Harrison Ford, joined pens to write a powerful statement about the actions we need to take if we
are to prevent Climate Change from causing permanent biodiversity loss.

We are pleased and privileged to introduce this book. Although our backgrounds and A Climate
for Life and applaud the clarity with which they have been presented.
At the foundation of what the authors have brought together are four great but simple truths established
by scientific research. First, the changes occurring in every dimension of the environment are accelerating,
like interest on a bad debt. Second, the major trends are due to human activity. Third, the changes are,
overall, destructive to humanity and the rest of life and, if left unabated, will soon become disastrous.
